O projeto Software Testing Academy visa criar a primeira academia deste tipo para todos os que desejam desenvolver a sua carreira em testes de software. Para o efeito, a parceria desenvolverá 3 percursos de formação: testes ágeis, testes de automatização e testes de acessibilidade. Estes foram seleccionados com base nas necessidades actuais e emergentes do mercado de trabalho.
A área em que nos vamos concentrar neste curso de formação é “Testes de acessibilidade“. O principal objetivo dos alunos é familiarizarem-se com o tema e a mentalidade subjacente, para que possam confiar nos seus conhecimentos e dar os primeiros passos (avançados) nos testes de acessibilidade.

Com esta formação, esperamos ajudar os alunos a adaptarem-se ao seu novo papel, obtendo novos conhecimentos, tais como:

- ferramentas para ajudar a testar a acessibilidade
- formas de chegar às pessoas com deficiência

Os estudantes devem também adquirir competências para obter informações de várias fontes e para contactar pessoas com deficiência e membros das suas organizações e comunidades.
Este curso sublinha a necessidade de um trabalho sistemático e sem defesas e de assumir a responsabilidade total pelos resultados obtidos, a atitude crítica em relação à informação obtida de diferentes fontes, bem como a abertura em relação às necessidades dos outros.
Cada secção do curso incluirá os seguintes elementos:
- Informação rápida sobre tópicos, objetivos e resultados da secção.
- Pré-teste – forma de verificar os conhecimentos do aluno antes de estudar novos tópicos.
- Materiais – vídeos, infografias, gravações áudio e artigos.
- Exercícios – ajudarão os alunos a empenharem-se na conclusão da secção.
